Not all peptides require labs. Growth hormone secretagogues (sermorelin, ipamorelin) may require an IGF-1 panel. Semaglutide may require a metabolic panel.

Does Insurance Cover Peptide Therapy?
Compounded peptides are not covered by standard health insurance, as they are not FDA-approved drugs. Insurance companies cover FDA-approved drugs, not individualized compounded preparations. FSA and HSA funds may be usable for the consultation fee; check with your plan administrator.
The exception: FDA-approved GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic (for diabetes) and Wegovy (for obesity) may be covered by insurance when prescribed for the approved indication. However, compounded semaglutide — while often identical in active ingredient — is not covered because it is not the FDA-approved product.
Tennessee vs. National Telehealth Pricing
National telehealth platforms (Hims, Ro, Found, Calibrate) typically charge $200–400/month for GLP-1 medications — similar to our local pricing. However, national platforms often use out-of-state compounding pharmacies with longer shipping times. Tennessee-based compounding through a local pharmacy partner typically results in faster turnaround and a provider who understands Tennessee health context.
For non-GLP-1 peptides like BPC-157 and sermorelin, most national platforms don't offer these services at all — they focus almost exclusively on GLP-1s. A Tennessee-based telehealth provider gives access to the full peptide formulary.
